Course Description:

This course was designed to help prepare professional arborists to take the ISA Certified Arborist examination. The teaching cadre has over 260 combined years of experience in the tree care industry. Nonprofessionals are also welcome to attend the entire course or other sessions to gain a better understanding of the benefits of trees and develop their tree ID and tree care skills. Three years of experience is required to take the ISA Certified Arborist exam. For more information on the exam, please visit www.isa-arbor.com. Course schedule:

• September 8  Tree Identification,Tree Biology, Installation and Establishment, Soil Science
• September 15 Water Management, Tree Nutrition and Fertilization,Tree Selection, Tree Support
• September 22 Plant Health Care, Diagnosis and Plant Disorders, Pruning and Oak Wilt,Tree Assessment and Risk Management 
• October 6 Trees and Construction, Urban Forestry, Tree Worker Safety, Climbing and Working in Trees

Topics also address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to certified arborists and relevant to the professional development of the student. Students receive continuing education credits. Approved for 3 CEUs per session for ISA CA, TNLA and Master Gardeners, and 3 hours per session Master Naturalist Advanced Training.

Certified Arbortist Test Preparation Course Fee: $300; includes the Arborist Certification Study Guide (a $115 value)
